Missouri State Record Fish

The Missouri Department of Conservation provides awards for three styles of angling success, First Fish, Master Angler, and State Record Fish. These awards commemorate three high spots in an angler's career.

First Fish Awards

First Fish Awards provide a frame able certificate for budding anglers to remember their first capture by. Size of fish and age of angler is irrelevant only that it be the first fish they have successfully landed.

Master Angler Awards

Master Angler Awards are recognition of the next step in an angler's career, the big one that didn't get away. A standard is set for each species that is representative of a trophy fish for that species. If your captured fish is larger than that listed on the Master Angler Award Entry Form will send the angler a certificate commemorating the event.

State Record Fish Award

Finally, MDC offers the State Record Fish Award. It recognizes the culmination of an angler's experience, the biggest fish of that species ever caught in Missouri. The award for this capture is a plaque and a place on the State Record Fish List.
