Deer Management in the Greater Springfield Metropolitan Area: Final Report

Managing White-tailed deer populations in the urban setting has become a challenge not only for the Greater Springfield Metro Area, but for communities nationwide. The Greater Springfield Metro Urban Deer Action Committee (UDAC) was formed in April of 2006. Over the course of the past year, the committee has met monthly and done research into local deer populations, population management, management alternatives, human deer conflicts, deer vehicle collisions (DVC's), obtained public opinion and investigated how other communities in Missouri and nationwide have begun to address the same problem now faced by the Greater Springfield Metro Area.
