Waterfowl Hunters

Due to very thick ice and snow covering 99% of the areas, low waterfowl populations, and a lack of interest in waterfowl hunting under these conditions, we will not be having morning drawings for the remainder of the season on Bob Brown or Nodaway Valley.

If hunters are interested in hunting on the ice or in the dry fields they are still required to obtain a daily tag. Daily tags are available in the self check-in box located by the draw room doors.

The waterfowl refuges are still in effect and the waterfowl hunting pools are still closed to all uses except for waterfowl hunting.

Fountain Grove Update: October 2007

The wetland renovation project at Fountain Grove Conservation Area is approximately 70% complete. Dry conditions throughout the past summer and early fall provided ideal conditions for completing dirt work activities in Pools 1, 2, and 3. Additionally, all replacement and new water control structures in Pools 1, 2, and 3 have been poured although the internal parts which actually make the water control structures functional are on order so have not yet been installed. The H and J pool complex is still under active construction and will remain closed to all public access.
