Friday Night Live: Frog Festival, 6:00 - 9:00p at Pink Hill Park

Amphibian species, including frogs are going extinct at an alarming rate never before witnessed. Amphibian Ark has launched a global conservation response to this crisis aimed at generating awareness, education, and support for local as well as global amphibian conservation initiatives. So why should you care? Amphibians are considered the “canary in the coal mine” for our environment. They can breathe and drink through their highly permeable skin. Unfortunately, that also means that contaminants can readily enter their body. This makes them an important indicator of environmental health. What is harmful to amphibians is it also harmful to you and me!

For more information about the Year of the Frog and Amphibian Ark, go to www.amphibianark.org.
